ELIGIBILITY: To be recorded in the official Championship results and be eligible for certificates, athletes will need to be fully registered (includes Athletics NZ registration) with an affiliated club within the Centre for 2011 as at the day of the race. Registered athletes must wear club uniform.

 

Entry Requirements: no pre-entry required.  Simply turn up and run/walk

 

ENTRY FEE'S

$5:00 Seniors and Masters     $3:00 for all other grades 

 

            $10.00 Seniors, Masters         $5.00 all other grades

 

Each  club will be sent an Invoice by the Centre for Entry Fees  - and it is therefore each clubs decision how they recover these fees from registered and unregistered athletes.

 

TEAMS:  An inter-club competition will be held for each Championship grade.

·  All grades 4 members to count, or if no team has 4 then 3 members will form a team.

 

Officials Needed: The host club would like some assistance with officiating on the day, and clubs are asked to bring 1-2 officials to assist with the days racing, such as recording, time keeping or marshaling.

ATTENTION Club Captains

Please ensure all athletes, particularly Juniors UNDERSTAND WHAT GRADE they are eligible to compete in – these may differ from your usual club races

 

    Masters 35+                                   = 35 on or before the date of the event

    Seniors                                           = Born 1991 or earlier

    Men/Women 19    (17,18,19)        = Born in  1992, 1993, 1994

    Men Women 16    (14,15,16)        = Born in  1995, 1996, 1997

    Boys & Girls Under 14  (12,13)     = Born in 1998, 1999

    Boys & Girls Under 12  (10,11)     = Born in  2000, 2001

     Boys & Girls Under 10                  = Born in 2002  or earlier

 

Masters Athletes: Your eligibility for 5-year age groups is per your age as of 25 June 2011.  Results will be recorded in 5 year age groups E.g W35-39, W40-44, W45-49 etc

 

 

Running out of a grade: If you intend to run in a grade different to your age group e.g M16 running in M19 race; Master running as a Senior;  please let the organisers know prior to the start otherwise it is assumed you will run in your grade

 

 

The Course: course maps available on the day.

 

 

Note: We do not have exclusive use of the Massey sport fields or walking trails. Officials will be stationed at key points and “Caution Runners” signs on the trails will alert the public – please act courteously to members of the public you may encounter during the event.

 

Prize giving & afternoon tea: Please bring a plate to contribute. Held at PNAHC Club Rooms adjacent to the Start/Finish line following the final event (approx. 3.00pm).

 

Toilets/Showers: available at the PNAHC club rooms

 

Parking: Limited amount next to the Athletics Track, with ample other parking in the “gravel pit” off Albany Drive – look for appropriate signage

Selection for Manawatu/Wanganui team to NZ Cross Country Champs

 

The Manawatu/Wanganui champs are a key selection race for athletes to be considered to represent Manawatu/Wanganui at the 2011 national championships in Christchurch on 23rd July. Please see Rob Dabb (FMoa), Mark Searle (PNAHC) or Roger Morrison (WHAC) if you wish to be considered. If you are unable to take part in the Centre Champs but wish to be considered contact one of the selectors BEFORE this event.

 

 

 

MCAT, Albany Drive, Massey University

 

From Palmerston North, head towards Massey on Fitzherbert Ave. Just after crossing the Manawatu River, veer left onto Summerhill Drive. About 1km on take a left into Old West Rd (SH57). Albany Drive is the next road on the right.
