26 Sep 2007 – AGM: Colin Gemmell steps down as President

Colin Gemmell stepped down as President of PNAHC after 12 years with those present paying tribute to his efforts over this period.  Colin expressed his thanks to the Committee and could only offer further encouragement to those who wish to participate in the sport as competitors but just as importantly as volunteers.   Colin expressed the familiar themes of retaining secondary school students in the sport and the efforts to recruit volunteers for club nights and other meetings.  Brian Curry has been elected as President in his place.

15 Sep 2007 – Ian Carter takes Silver & Bronze at Worlds

Congratulations to Ian Carter who finished with a silver and bronze at the World Masters Athletic Championships in Italy.  Running in the 55+ age group Ian took bronze in the 1500 with a 4:27.91 and a silver the following day in the steeplechase with a 11:13.14.

10 Sep 2007 – Anne Thompson wins award

Congratulations to Anne Thomson for receiving a volunteers award for services to Athletics from Sport Manawatu.

1 Sep 2007 – Michelle Lei wins Road Title

Michelle Lei has won the National Road Title for 10km Race Walk in 56 mins 04sec which was 3 minutes clear of 2nd place.   Andrus Lei placed 2nd in the Senior Mens Race Walk in 54min 49sec.  Olivia Burne followed up her win at NZ Secondary Schools Cross Country with 2nd place in 18min 05sec over 5km for Women 16.

14 July 2007 – Senior Men Champions

Congratulations to the Senior Mens team for taking out the team title for the Manawatu Wanganui Area Cross-Country Championships over 12km at Waitarere Beach.  Important to point out that Callum McConachy (age 21) was technically the only Senior Man in the team alongside under 19 Hayden Donnelly and three 35+ in the form of Andrew Davenport and Darren & Lance Gray.  PNAHC were helped by the fact that all other competitors elected to race in the 35+ age group gifted PNAHC the title.  George McConachy would like to thank the Levin Harrier people for organising such a good course but also the meat raffle which made the team dinner was especially satisfying.
